Raymond Shaw founded R&R Services in 1974 to service the printed circuit board industry. Then soon we were involved in a number of new interests including jigs, fixtures, small machine and specialized fabrication of new and unusual materials.
Most of these new materials were non-metal. They were not well known to the every day machinist. For these were new materials for new ideas of a big Aerospace industry’s futuristic products and purposes.
Many of these new materials themselves were developed for the Aerospace industry. With their unusual characteristics and high cost it kept their unique machining techniques limited to just a few of us, but, as always, with time they made their way into everyone’s everyday life. Materials such as, G 10, Isodamp, Ultem, Teflon, Delrin, Lexan, isodamp, and other laminates to name just a few.
These materials became second nature to R&R Services as we began doing business with highly advanced companies such as Lockheed, Litton Guidance, 3M, Boeing, Northrop and JPL.
Dealing with the finest engineers of these major company’s we were informed that if we wanted to do work with them we would need to get very proficient in dealing with these new materials.
And we did.
Of course we machine most all of the metals. Metal machining seems to make up about half of our orders but being knowledgeable in the non-metals materials has keep us busy in those slow periods over these last 37 years we’ve been in business.
One thing that R&R Services has kept first and foremost in mind is that our customers deserves the finest product that we can manufacture.
We hold our customers in high esteem for without them we don’t exist.
